Are you an experienced HLTA ready for your next exciting challenge? Do you enjoy stepping into the classroom, leading lessons, and making a real impact across a whole primary school?
GSL Education is working closely with a primary school in the Loughton area that is looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible on a full-time, long-term basis.
The Role
This is a varied and rewarding position where you will cover classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, delivering pre-planned lessons and supporting pupils’ learning when teachers are absent. You’ll be a trusted and valued member of the school team, helping to maintain continuity and high standards throughout the school day.
What You’ll Be Doing

Covering whole classes across the primary school when required

Delivering engaging, pre-prepared lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment

Supporting pupils of all abilities to stay focused, motivated, and on track
-
Managing classroom behaviour confidently and calmly

Working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders
-
Providing additional support in lessons where needed
What We’re Looking For

HLTA status (or significant classroom experience with the ability to lead lessons)

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

Confidence working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
-
A flexible, proactive, and professional approach

A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
