Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
GSL Education are seeking several Cover Supervisors to work with our partnership secondary schools.
Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Contract: Temporary (with the potential to become permanent for the right person)
Pay: £100–£120 per day
Start Date: As soon as possible
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-set work. This role is ideal for retired teachers, graduates, or individuals with strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee whole classes across KS3 and KS4
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials
- Maintain good classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support students to complete work effectively
- Provide feedback to teaching staff and school leaders
- Follow safeguarding procedures at all times
Requirements
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Confidence overseeing a class of secondary-aged pupils
- Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
- Suitable for retired teachers or graduates considering a career in education
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
