Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day - Supply

GSL Education are hiring a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support schools in the Barnsley area, covering the S70 and S71 districts, providing one‑to‑one and small group support to pupils with diverse special educational needs.
As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers to support learning, promote independence, and help pupils achieve their potential in a safe and inclusive environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Assist in implementing individual learning plans and interventions.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in classroom activities.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with additional needs.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
