Are you a dedicated and creative SEND Teacher with a passion for inclusive education and supporting learners with complex needs? GSL Education Manchester is recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded specialist SEND school in Stockport, catering to pupils aged 4–16 with a range of additional needs including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

This is a full-time teaching role beginning February 2026, ideal for someone who thrives in a nurturing and highly supportive setting, where small class sizes and a collaborative team ethos are central to success.

About the Role

You’ll lead a small class of learners with a wide spectrum of needs, delivering tailored, engaging lessons across the curriculum. Many pupils work well with structure and sensory approaches, so confidence with differentiated planning and behavioural support is essential.

You’ll work closely with TAs, therapists, SENCOs, and pastoral leads to ensure every child’s academic, social, and emotional needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated, accessible teaching that supports EHCP outcomes

  • Use creative strategies to promote independence and personal progress

  • Lead small group and 1:1 sessions to address specific learning and behaviour needs

  • Support behaviour regulation using a calm, proactive approach

  • Contribute to whole-school planning, assessment, and team development

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a SEND or inclusive setting

  • Understanding of ASD, SEMH, sensory and speech/language needs

  • Ability to adapt the curriculum for learners working significantly below age-related expectations

  • A resilient, reflective teaching style and commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

  • Confidence managing TAs and working within a multi-disciplinary team

Why Work with This School?

  • A warm and collaborative staff team with low staff turnover

  • Specialist resources, sensory spaces and structured routines

  • Strong links with external agencies, therapists, and families

  • A school culture built around dignity, respect, and individual success

  • Opportunities for CPD and career progression within specialist education
