About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and development. You will assist teachers in delivering personalised lessons, provide emotional support, and contribute to creating a positive and structured learning environment that fosters growth and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Support students in engaging with lessons and activities, adapting approaches to individual needs.
- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and interventions.
- Build strong relationships with students to encourage trust, confidence, and motivation.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.
- Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and development in line with school policies.
- Assist with personal care and well-being where necessary, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Promote positive social and emotional development through structured support and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar SEMH or teaching assistant role is preferred.
- Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs and support strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
- A compassionate, patient, and supportive approach to all learners.
