Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Rotherham (S25)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students with special educational needs, working closely with teachers to implement strategies that promote learning and personal growth. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on students’ educational journeys.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in classroom activities, ensuring engagement and progress.
  • Assist with implementing personalised learning plans and strategies.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and activities.
  • Provide support for personal care, including hygiene and eating, where required.
  • Use effective communication strategies to engage students and promote learning.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role is preferred.
  • Understanding of SEN conditions and evidence-based support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting students’ development.
