SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking resilient and compassionate Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistants to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs for schools in Sheffield (S2, S3). This SEMH TA role is ideal for someone who understands that behaviour is often communication — and knows how to respond with patience and structure.
How You’ll Support Students:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for SEMH learners
- Help students regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
- Implement behaviour strategies and support plans consistently
- Build trusting, positive relationships with students
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Support students’ social development and confidence

- Experience supporting SEMH or complex needs (desirable)

- Strong behaviour support and de-escalation skills

- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education
