SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for caring and committed Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to support learners with additional needs, helping them feel confident, included, and ready to engage with learning.

This SEN TA role is ideal for someone who understands that progress looks different for every child — and celebrates every step forward.

What Your Support Will Look Like:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Assist with differentiated learning activities
  • Support communication, independence, and confidence-building
  • Help manage behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

The Qualities That Matter Most in a SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to follow support plans and adapt in real time
  • Professional, reliable, and student-focused
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education
