SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

Schools in Wakefield (WF4) and GSL Education are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with Special Educational Needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is an ideal role for someone patient, nurturing, and committed to making a real difference in a child’s learning journey.

Your Responsibilities as a SEN TA:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEN
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support learning activities and encourage student engagement
  • Help students build confidence, social skills, and independence
  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to monitor progress
  • Maintain accurate records of student development and achievements

What We’re Looking for in a SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEN
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support behaviour management positively
  • Professional, reliable, and student-focused
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education
