SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay: Up to £220 per day (based on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teacher to provide guidance, structure, and personalised support for students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges for schools in Wakefield (WF4). This SEMH Teacher role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, patient, and skilled at building positive relationships with students.
Your Role in the Classroom:
- Plan and deliver lessons tailored to the needs of SEMH students
- Support students in developing coping strategies, resilience, and confidence
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and families to monitor progress
- Implement individual support plans and strategies to manage behaviour and engagement
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Skills and Experience We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience in being a SEMH Teacher teaching students is desirable
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a student-focused approach
- Professionalism and adaptability
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education
