Supporting Young People Aged 16–25 with PMLD, Complex Needs & SEMH

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in a unique farm-based and outdoor learning environment, supporting young people aged 16–25 with PMLD, complex needs and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role is ideal for someone who believes learning goes beyond the classroom and thrives through sensory experiences, practical activities and meaningful relationships.


The Role

You will support learners through alternative and personalised learning pathways, using the farm and outdoor environment to promote engagement, wellbeing, independence and communication.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting learners with individual learning and sensory needs

  • Delivering and assisting with outdoor, practical and farm-based activities

  • Creating a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment

  • Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing

  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred education

  • Assisting with personal care where required, always promoting dignity and choice


About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, empathetic and resilient

  • Passionate about inclusive and alternative education

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Flexible and creative in adapting learning activities

  • Committed to supporting young people with complex needs

Experience in SEN, care, education, youth work or outdoor learning is desirable, but full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
