GSL Education is currently recruiting a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a child with autism in a highly regarded primary school in Harlow. The school benefits from a dedicated SEN provision, providing a structured, well-resourced environment with strong staff support.
The Role
This full-time position is available immediately and offers the chance to become a valued member of a caring SEN team. You will work closely with one pupil, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and social development throughout the school day.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Delivering individualised 1:1 support for a pupil with autism

Supporting learning within both the classroom and the specialist SEN setting

Helping the pupil access lessons through adapted strategies and routines

Promoting independence, engagement, and positive behaviour

Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff

Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
-
Has experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
-
Is calm, patient, and confident supporting emotional and behavioural needs

Communicates well and works effectively as part of a team

Is passionate about inclusive education and child development

Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is happy to apply)
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 are beneficial but not essential.
