SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026
GSL Education are recruiting a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a specialist secondary alternative provision in the Scarborough area.
About the School
This setting supports pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, SEMH and learning difficulties. Teaching is delivered through personalised learning plans, small-group support and strong pastoral care.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group SEN support.

Assist with personalised education and behaviour plans.

Support communication, independence and confidence.

Help pupils access academic and life-skills learning.

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
Requirements

Experience supporting pupils with SEND.

Knowledge of inclusive and differentiated practice.

Patient, adaptable and supportive approach.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
