Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Location: Scarborough
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026

GSL Education are seeking a proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist secondary provision supporting pupils with challenging behaviour in the Scarborough area.

Behaviour Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in managing behaviour and accessing learning.

  • Implement behaviour support and de-escalation strategies.

  • Promote positive routines, boundaries and expectations.

  • Support classroom and intervention-based learning.

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting behaviour in education or youth settings.

  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.

  • Resilience, patience and emotional intelligence.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
