SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Newham
Pay Rate: £500 - £550 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and supportive school in Newham. About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies that meet individual needs. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference in a young person’s educational journey.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and demonstrate patience and empathy.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
