Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a patient, compassionate, and proactive Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs across schools in Dinnington (S25). This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping students overcome challenges and build confidence, resilience, and independence.

What to Expect in This SEMH TA Role:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in classroom activities and adapt tasks to meet individual emotional and learning needs.
  • Support students with behaviour management, focus, and engagement.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement personalised support plans.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements for This Role:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident, proactive, and adaptable in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
