Salary: £460 – £600 per week

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis, helping them manage behaviour, access the curriculum, and develop essential social, emotional, and life skills. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you will help foster confidence, independence, and wellbeing while promoting a positive and structured classroom culture.

Responsibilities:
• Support students with SEMH needs in classroom and 1:1 settings, helping them engage with learning and manage behaviour.
• Implement individual support plans and strategies in collaboration with teachers and SEN staff.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social skills through structured interventions.
• Build trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.
• Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and engagement according to school policies.
• Assist with personal care when needed, maintaining dignity and respect.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEND coordinators, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.

Qualifications:
• Experience supporting students with SEMH or similar needs, ideally within a school environment.
• Knowledge of SEMH challenges and effective behaviour management strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience to work with students with challenging behaviour.
• Ability to adapt to individual needs and contribute effectively within a team.
