English Teacher
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: February Half Term 2026
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Scarborough area. This full-time role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about English Language and Literature and committed to raising attainment across KS3 and KS4.

English Teacher Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

Inspire pupils through engaging and creative teaching approaches.

Assess, monitor and track pupil progress effectively.

Maintain positive behaviour and a safe classroom environment.

Work collaboratively with departmental and pastoral teams.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Experience teaching English at secondary level.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Commitment to inclusive and high-quality teaching.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
