Job Title: Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work across schools in Wakefield, notably within the WF4 locality, offering support to learners with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with staff to deliver tailored support, help manage behaviour, and encourage confidence and independence in students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils one-to-one or in small groups with social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning strategies.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage students to develop independence and self-regulation skills.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a SEMH Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEMH needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learning support.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
