Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are hiring SEN Teaching Assistants for schools located across Wakefield’s WF4 area, offering the opportunity to provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs.

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised learning, assist pupils with tasks, and foster independence and confidence in their daily learning.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist with lesson delivery and help pupils access the curriculum effectively.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to teaching staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support social and emotional development.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting children with additional needs.
  • Patience, understanding, and a proactive approach to learning support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
