Humanities Teacher

Location: York
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS)
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026

GSL Education are recruiting a knowledgeable Humanities Teacher to teach a range of humanities subjects within a secondary school in York.

Humanities Teacher Responsibilities

  • Teach Humanities subjects at KS3 and KS4

  • Plan engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Support pupil progress and exam readiness

  • Encourage curiosity and independent thinking

  • Work collaboratively within the department

Requirements

  • QTS with Humanities background

  • Experience teaching History, Geography or RE

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Commitment to inclusive teaching

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
