Job Title: Religious Education (RE) Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are proudly joining forces with schools in Barnsley, across the S70 and S71 districts, to appoint an enthusiastic and committed RE Teacher who can bring religious education to life and inspire meaningful classroom discussions.

As an RE (Religious Education) Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that explore a range of world religions, ethical dilemmas, and contemporary issues, helping students develop critical thinking and respect for diverse perspectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver well-structured RE lessons that promote understanding and reflection.
  • Encourage discussion and debate on moral, cultural, and philosophical topics.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively.
  • Track student development and maintain accurate assessment records.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong RE subject knowledge and confidence delivering as an RE Teacher.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
