Job Title: Design Technology (DT) Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are appointing an innovative Design Technology Teacher to join schools across Barnsley, including the S70 and S71 areas, delivering engaging lessons that build students’ practical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
As a Design Technology (DT) Teacher, you will plan lessons that combine creativity with technical understanding, encouraging students to design, build, and evaluate their projects while developing resilience and independent thinking.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons across key Design Technology areas such as product design, materials, and engineering concepts.
- Ensure safe use of tools, machinery, and workshop equipment.
- Encourage students to think creatively and solve practical design challenges.
- Provide constructive feedback to support student development.
- Maintain an organised and safe learning environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge and experience as a Design Technology Teacher.
- Excellent practical, planning, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire students and foster creativity.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
