Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant – North London

Location: North London (Haringey, Enfield, Barnet, Islington, Camden, and Hackney)
Salary: £100–£110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/ Long term, Full-Time / Part-time
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are recruiting Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across SEMH schools, alternative provisions, and specialist settings in North London, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, behavioural challenges, trauma backgrounds, and additional learning needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with pupils who require structure, consistency, and strong adult relationships.

The Role

As a Grad SEMH TA, you will:
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Help manage challenging behaviour and emotional regulation
• Support students with engagement, routine, and boundaries
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, behaviour leads, and SENCOs
• Implement behaviour plans and contribute to a positive, structured environment
• Act as a positive role model for pupils who may struggle in mainstream education

Previous experience in youth work, mentoring, care, coaching, or support roles is highly desirable but not essential.

Requirements:

• A completed degree
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
• Commitment to full-time work
