Job Title: Y12 SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £100 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Y12 SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support post-16 students in Hackney?
GSL Education are seeking a committed Y12 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Hackney. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping learners with Special Educational Needs succeed academically, socially, and emotionally during Year 12.
This opportunity offers the chance to work closely with young people at a crucial stage of their education, supporting their transition into further education, training, or employment. You will play a key role in building confidence, encouraging independence, and helping students develop essential life and learning skills in a structured and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
- Support learners to access the Year 12 curriculum effectively.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff as a Year 12 SEN Teaching Assistant.
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to reviews and support plans.
Requirements of Y12 SEN TA:
- Previous experience working as a Y12 SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar SEN support role.
- Strong understanding of SEN needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, proactive, and supportive approach.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
