Location: York
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026
GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated English Teacher to work within a secondary school in York, supporting pupils to develop strong literacy and communication skills.

English Teacher Responsibilities

Teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4

Plan creative and engaging lessons

Assess progress and support exam preparation

Encourage confidence in reading, writing and speaking

Contribute to department and whole-school initiatives
Requirements

QTS with an English specialism

Secondary teaching experience

Strong classroom presence and organisation

Commitment to inclusive education

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
