SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Tadcaster
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Tadcaster area, supporting pupils with additional learning and emotional needs.

About the School

The provision delivers a highly individualised approach to education for pupils who may struggle in mainstream settings. Learners are supported through consistent routines, strong pastoral care and targeted interventions designed to promote both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored SEN support on a 1:1 and small-group basis

  • Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Support classroom learning and intervention sessions

  • Help maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment

Requirements

  • Previous SEN, SEMH or behaviour support experience

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils

  • Flexible and proactive approach

  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
