Job Title: History Teacher
Location: Doncaster (DN2, DN6)
Pay rate: Upto £220 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are inviting applications for a History Teacher to work within schools across Doncaster (DN2 & DN6), delivering engaging lessons that encourage pupils to think critically and develop a strong understanding of historical events and contexts.

As a History Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons, support learners of all abilities, and foster a classroom culture of curiosity and discussion. This role offers the opportunity to help pupils link past events to the present, building analytical thinking and informed perspectives.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Teach history through well-planned, stimulating lessons.
  • Support pupils in developing critical thinking, analysis, and written skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help students progress academically.
  • Use effective behaviour management to maintain a focused learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and strategies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Confident subject knowledge and experience delivering as a History Teacher.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to supporting learners of all abilities.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection requirements.
