Job Title: Design Technology Teacher
Location: Rotherham (S65, S66)
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on Experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a creative and skilled Design Technology Teacher passionate about practical learning and innovation?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Rotherham (S65, S66) from January 2026.

As a Design Technology (DT) Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ problem-solving, design, and practical skills across a range of DT disciplines. This role offers flexible day-to-day and long-term opportunities, ideal for teachers who enjoy hands-on teaching and inspiring creativity.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Teach across relevant DT specialisms such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, or Graphics.
  • Support students in developing practical, technical, and creative skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental objectives.
  • Ensure a safe and well-managed workshop or classroom environment.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement.

DT Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology.
  • Experience teaching DT in UK schools is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom and workshop management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
