Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield WF4
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: : Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and skilled SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting in the Wakefield WF4 area. This role is ideal for a teacher who can build strong relationships, deliver engaging lessons, and create a structured learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
Key Responsibilities of the SEMH Teacher:
- Plan and deliver personalised lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
- Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches to support behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals.
- Create a consistent, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Track progress and adapt teaching strategies to support pupil growth.
Requirements for the SEMH Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with SEMH pupils or within specialist/alternative provisions.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a calm, confident teaching approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
