Job Title: Pastoral Manager
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Manager looking to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives? GSL Education are seeking an experienced Pastoral Manager to join a supportive and inclusive school setting in Wakefield WF4 from January 2026.
As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ emotional well-being, behaviour, attendance, and overall development. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in pastoral care, behaviour management, safeguarding, or student support who are passionate about helping young people thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities of Pastoral Manager:
- Lead and deliver effective pastoral support for pupils across the school.
- Monitor behaviour, attendance, and well-being, implementing intervention strategies where required.
- Provide 1:1 mentoring and emotional support to pupils.
- Work closely with senior leaders, SENCOs, teachers, and external agencies.
- Support safeguarding procedures and promote pupil welfare.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working as a Pastoral Manager, Pastoral Lead, Behaviour Manager, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour support, and student welfare.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.
