SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Thirsk
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026
GSL Education are looking for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting near Thirsk. This role involves supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs in a structured and supportive environment.
About the School
The provision supports pupils who have struggled in mainstream education due to SEMH needs. Small groups, therapeutic strategies and strong adult relationships are central to the school’s approach.
Responsibilities

Support pupils with SEMH needs 1:1 and in groups

Assist with behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Encourage engagement and positive routines

Support learning across a broad curriculum
Requirements
Experience supporting SEMH needs, resilience, strong behaviour support skills and an enhanced DBS.
