Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term 
Start Date: January 2026

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? A local school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide hands-on support to pupils requiring additional care and guidance.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social needs. You’ll help students thrive academically and emotionally while contributing to a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to provide targeted support for SEMH pupils

  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation under teacher guidance

  • Contribute to individual support plans and monitor pupil progress

  • Build meaningful relationships that foster confidence, independence, and resilience

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential

  • Strong communication, patience, and resilience

  • Genuine interest in SEMH and child development

  • An up-to-date CV and enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
