Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham – S25
Pay: £460–£600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? A local school in Rotherham is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide hands-on support to pupils requiring additional care and guidance.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social needs. You’ll help students thrive academically and emotionally while contributing to a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:

Work 1:1 or in small groups to provide targeted support for SEMH pupils

Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation under teacher guidance

Contribute to individual support plans and monitor pupil progress

Build meaningful relationships that foster confidence, independence, and resilience

Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Qualifications:

Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential

Strong communication, patience, and resilience

Genuine interest in SEMH and child development

An up-to-date CV and enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
