Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S35)
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a passionate and inspiring English Teacher ready to develop students’ reading, writing, and communication skills?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Sheffield (S35) from January 2026.

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that foster a love for literature and language, support academic progress, and encourage confident self-expression in students of all abilities.

Teacher of English Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Teach key areas including reading, writing, grammar, and literature.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and track attainment.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school objectives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and previous experience teaching English in secondary schools is desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners of varying abilities.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
