Job Title: History Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S35)
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Sheffield (S35) from January 2026.
As a History Teacher, you will inspire students to explore historical events, develop critical thinking skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. You will play a key role in fostering curiosity, discussion, and academic progress within a positive learning environment.
Teacher of History Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Encourage critical thinking, debate, and analytical skills through engaging teaching.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in History or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching History in secondary schools is desirable.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.
- A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
