We are supporting a forward‑thinking and inclusive primary school in Stockport with the recruitment of a Year 6 Class Teacher to join their experienced team from February Half Term 2026 (or sooner) through to July 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a Year 6 class through the final term of primary school, helping pupils prepare for Key Stage 2 transition and SATs readiness, in a setting that values high expectations, a supportive culture, and strong pupil outcomes.
About the Role
As the Year 6 Class Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons across the full KS2 curriculum

Lead a motivated class through the spring and summer term, including preparation for end‑of‑key stage assessments

Employ engaging, inclusive teaching styles that meet the needs of all learners
-
Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school policy
-
Support classroom routines, behaviour expectations, and positive learning culture
-
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to whole‑school improvement
This role is ideal for a teacher with a solid track record in KS2 classroom management and curriculum delivery, who can hit the ground running and support pupils in achieving strong academic and personal progress.
What We’re Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience

Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6

Strong subject knowledge across core curriculum areas

Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

A reflective, adaptive teacher with high expectations of pupil progress

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
