Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460-£650 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/January 2026 start
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are offering a role for a dynamic Sports Coach to engage learners in Barnsley, particularly in the S70 and S71 postcode areas, helping them build confidence, teamwork, and fitness through practical coaching sessions.

As a Sports Coach, you will deliver structured training, organise activities, and promote participation in individual and team sports while helping learners build discipline, resilience, and healthy lifestyle awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver coaching sessions across a variety of sports.
  • Encourage skill development, teamwork, and fair play.
  • Motivate students to participate actively and safely.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist in organising competitions, events, and extra-curricular activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Sports Coach with children or young people.
  • Strong knowledge of sports, coaching techniques, and safety practices.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • A professional and proactive approach to safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
