Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £1100 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/January 2026 start
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are hiring a committed Geography Teacher to support schools in Barnsley, encouraging learners in the S70 and S71 postcode areas to engage with the world around them.

As a Geography Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that cover physical landscapes, human geography, and environmental topics, helping students develop map skills, analytical abilities, and awareness of current global challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality geography lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Support students in developing analytical, map-reading, and research skills.
  • Encourage discussion, critical thinking, and exploration of environmental and social issues.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a collaborative learning atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience as a Geography Teacher.
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical and theoretical lessons.
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills.
  • A professional and reflective approach to teaching and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
