Job Title: History Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £1100 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/January 2026 start
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are delighted to welcome a knowledgeable History Teacher to schools throughout Barnsley, inspiring learners in the S70 and S71 postcode areas to develop a passion for historical enquiry and critical thinking.

As a History Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that cover key historical events, themes, and interpretations, helping students develop analytical skills and an appreciation for different perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality history lessons aligned with the curriculum.
  • Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and evaluation of historical events.
  • Support students in developing research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote respectful classroom behaviour and positive learning attitudes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience as a History Teacher.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Effective classroom management and clear communication skills.
  • A professional and reflective approach to teaching and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
