Job Title: PE (Physical Education) Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £1100 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/January 2026 start
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are currently looking for an enthusiastic PE Teacher to work within schools across Barnsley, supporting learners in the S70 and S71 postcode areas and helping them develop fitness, teamwork, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.

As a PE (Physical Education) Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that cover a variety of sports and physical activities, encouraging participation and skill development in a safe and inclusive environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons that develop fitness, skills, and teamwork.
  • Encourage participation, motivation, and enjoyment in all activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote positive behaviour and respect in the PE environment.
  • Organise and supervise sports events, competitions, and extra-curricular activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching physical education.
  • Strong knowledge of PE curriculum and a range of sports.
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A professional and reflective approach to teaching and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
