Job Title: Drama Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £1100 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/January 2026 start
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are currently appointing a passionate Drama Teacher to work within schools across Barnsley, supporting learners in the S70 and S71 postcode areas and encouraging engagement through creative arts.

As a Drama Teacher, you will deliver creative, structured lessons that inspire performance, storytelling, and teamwork, while fostering a safe space where students confidently express ideas and strengthen communication skills.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging drama lessons aligned with the curriculum.
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and collaboration through performance activities.
  • Support students in developing practical and theoretical understanding of drama.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive, supportive feedback.
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusive classroom practice.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience as a Drama Teacher.
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence leading practical sessions.
  • Effective classroom management and clear communication skills.
  • A professional and reflective approach to teaching and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
