Job Title: Behaviour Support Staff
Location: Sheffield (S5, S9)
Pay rate: £460-£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/ January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to introduce empathetic Behaviour Support Staff to Sheffield schools, offering tailored support to pupils in the S5 and S9 postcode areas.

In this role as Behaviour Support Staff, you will help students build positive behaviour, emotional awareness, and self-regulation skills. Working closely with teaching staff, you will create a safe, structured, and respectful environment that promotes engagement and personal growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent behavioural and emotional support to students.
  • Implement agreed behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
  • Encourage positive choices and reinforce appropriate behaviour.
  • Keep clear records of interventions and progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally within education.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • A proactive and reflective approach to behaviour support.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
