SEN Teaching Assistant (Intimate Care)
Location: Tower Hamelts
Salary: £90 – £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term

GSL Education London Branch are excited to be looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary comprehensive school and sixth form for girls in Tower Hamlets. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with additional needs and making a real difference every day.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (Intimate Care), you will work closely with students who require personal and physical support, helping them to access education in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The school is seeking a reliable and caring SEN Teaching Assistant who can confidently provide intimate care and manual handling support.

This long-term role is ideal for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to build strong relationships within a supportive all-girls secondary school setting. If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (Intimate Care) ready for a rewarding challenge, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Provide Intimate Care, including personal care, bed transfers, and hoist use

  • Carry out manual handling safely and in line with training and school policies

  • Support students’ learning, independence, and well-being throughout the school day

  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals

  • Maintain dignity, privacy, and respect for all students at all times

  • Follow safeguarding, health, and safety procedures

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role

  • Strong English skills and relevant qualifications

  • Ability to provide Intimate Care, including manual handling (bed and hoist)

  • A valid Manual Handling Certificate

  • A caring, patient, and professional approach

  • Ability to work well as part of a team in a school environment
