SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term, Full-time
Hours: 8:30am – 3:45pm

Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in a primary school setting?

GSL Education are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Tower Hamlets on a long-term, full-time basis.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them feel safe, confident, and engaged in their learning while working closely with teaching staff and support teams.

Main Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Provide 1:1 SEN support tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with learning activities in line with the curriculum.
  • Assist with personal care, including nappy changing where required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and behaviour strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven SEN experience and a good understanding of additional needs.
  • Recent school-based experience is essential.
  • Ability to deliver effective 1:1 SEN support.
  • Willingness and confidence to support with nappy changing.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow school policies.
  • Good level of spoken and written English.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
