Job Title: SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: Upto £1100 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a skilled SEMH Teacher to work in Sheffield schools, supporting learners in the S2 and S3 areas to achieve both academic success and personal growth.

As an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher, you will deliver tailored lessons within a safe, structured, and engaging environment, working with staff, parents, and professionals to support students’ emotional, social, and academic development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated lessons and learning activities suitable for students with SEMH needs.
  • Support pupils in managing emotions, building resilience, and developing social skills.
  • Monitor and assess progress, adapting teaching strategies to individual requirements.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive SEMH support.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience in working as an SEMH Teacher.
  • Strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health challenges in education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and positive relationships.
  • Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and professional responsibilities.
