Job Title: SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Bordon

Contract: Permanent / Fixed-term

Hours: Full-time / Part time

Salary: £120 - £150 per day


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and skilled SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive and inclusive school community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), supporting them to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess learning activities for individuals and small groups of pupils with SEND

  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs

  • Lead interventions and contribute to the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets

  • Provide cover for class teachers when required, in line with HLTA responsibilities

  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and independence for all pupils

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo, parents/carers and external agencies

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring pupil progress


The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience

  • Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting

  • A strong understanding of inclusive practice and differentiated learning

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A calm, patient and flexible approach

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
