Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistants
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediately/January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you someone who enjoys providing focused, individual support and helping learners overcome barriers to their progress?
GSL Education are currently looking for dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to work within schools across Sheffield, supporting pupils on an individual basis within the S2 and S3 areas.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored academic and emotional support to help a student engage confidently in learning. This role suits patient, observant individuals dedicated to making a real difference in a learner’s daily experience.
Responsibilities of 1:1 Teaching Assistants:
- Provide one-to-one support to pupils in line with individual learning or support plans.
- Assist students in engaging with lessons and completing set tasks.
- Support the development of social skills, confidence, and independence.
- Help manage behaviour positively and encourage appropriate classroom conduct.
- Work collaboratively with staff to adapt strategies that meet individual needs.
- Monitor progress and share observations with relevant school staff.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in an educational or care-related role.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to individual student needs.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and professional conduct.
