Job Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Bovington
Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated individual passionate about supporting children and young people with disabilities? GSL Education are seeking a committed Disability Support Worker to join a supportive and inclusive school community in Bovington, starting January 2026.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of physical, learning, sensory, and developmental disabilities, including SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex needs. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff to ensure every learner feels safe, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in disability support, SEN, care, or health and social care settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with disabilities.
- Support pupils with learning, communication, mobility, and personal development.
- Assist in implementing EHCP targets, care plans, and individual support strategies.
- Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
- Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Follow safeguarding procedures, care plans, and school policies at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with disabilities or SEND is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to care and learning.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
To work with GSL Education as a Disability Support Worker, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
