Pay Scale: £120- £150 per day – depending on experience & Contract Type
We are currently supporting a secondary school in North London that is seeking an experienced and highly organised Exams Officer to manage the administration and delivery of external examinations. This role requires a confident professional who can work independently, handle sensitive information securely, and ensure examination processes run smoothly throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the administration of public examinations across the academic year

Register candidates and submit accurate examination entries within awarding body deadlines

Maintain up-to-date exam records using internal systems and awarding body platforms

Act as the main point of contact for awarding bodies and internal school stakeholders

Plan examination timetables, room allocations, seating plans, and resource requirements

Recruit, train, brief, and deploy invigilators in line with examination requirements

Work collaboratively with the SENCo to support approved access arrangements and adjustments

Ensure the secure receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of confidential examination materials

Oversee the smooth running of examination sessions and respond effectively to any issues that arise

Support senior leaders with exam-related reporting, irregularities, or investigations when required

Manage the release of examination results and coordinate post-results services

Administer the receipt, distribution, and secure retention of examination certificates

Ensure all examination processes align with regulatory guidance, safeguarding expectations, and data protection standards
The Successful Candidate Will Have

Proven experience working as an Exams Officer within a UK secondary school or examinations centre
-
Strong working knowledge of examination administration and awarding body processes

Experience managing the full examination cycle, including entries, delivery, and results

Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure

Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with staff, students, and external bodies
-
A clear understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and secure data handling
